Have you ever tried Mystery Stamping?
When you really think about it, a set of Mystery Stamping clues is basically a set of cardmaking instructions — just delivered in a much more FUN way!
Instead of seeing the finished card first and following step-by-step instructions to copy it, you start with your cardstock, Designer Series Paper, stamps, and ink. Then I give you one clue at a time without showing you where we’re headed.
And that’s when things get interesting!

The Best Part of Mystery Stamping Isn’t Just the Card
Could I simply hand you the measurements and instructions below and tell you how to make this Radiant Sunflowers card?
Absolutely.
And I’m going to do exactly that in this post!
But there is something completely different about joining me and all of my Mystery Stamping friends on YouTube.
We visit. We laugh. We wonder what in the world I’m making you do. Sometimes you interpret a clue differently than I intended — and sometimes your idea turns out even better!
And, of course, you can always GO ROGUE!
That’s one of my favorite things about Mystery Stamping. There is no right or wrong card.
Everyone starts with the same basic clues, but we’re using different stamps, colors, Designer Series Papers, greetings, and embellishments.
By the time we solve the mystery, we can have hundreds of cards that started with the same clues and yet look completely different.
No stress. Use what you have. And have fun creating!

My Radiant Sunflowers Mystery Card
For my solved Mystery Card, I used the Radiant Sunflowers Stamp Set with the beautiful Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper.
I chose Cajun Craze for my card base and layers, which pulled those gorgeous warm rusty-red tones from the Designer Series Paper.
One of the things I love about this card layout is how much Designer Series Paper you get to show off. You’re using three different pieces, and choosing different patterns from the same paper pack makes all of the layers work together without being too matchy-matchy.
The simple Thinking of You greeting finishes the card without covering up all those beautiful sunflowers.

Now Try These Instructions Your Way!
Here’s where I want you to have some fun.
You don’t need Radiant Sunflowers or Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper to make this card.
Use what you have!
Choose a Designer Series Paper you love and pull a coordinating cardstock color from the paper. Pick three different patterns, find a greeting that fits the occasion, and make this layout completely your own.
That’s essentially what we do every week during Mystery Stamping — except you don’t get to see where I’m taking you until the mystery is solved!
And I think that’s what makes creating together so much fun.
It’s not just about making another card.
It’s about spending time together, trying something without knowing exactly how it will turn out, laughing when things don’t go according to plan, and discovering what YOU create from the clues.
