There’s something special about Mystery Monday. Every week, we start with a few measurements, a handful of supplies, and a little bit of curiosity. One clue at a time, a beautiful card begins to take shape!

This week’s Mystery Monday featured an accordion fold card with a removable belly band. It’s a fun fold that’s easier than it looks and a wonderful way to show off beautiful Designer Series Paper.

For my sample, I used the gorgeous Garden Poetry Designer Series Paper paired with Poppy Parade Cardstock and the heartfelt Prayers & Promises Stamp Set. The elegant greenery die cuts from the Greenery Lane Dies add just the right finishing touch, while a few Pearlized Faceted Circles provide a little sparkle.

A Happy Crafting Mistake

Even after almost 29 years as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I still make mistakes!

While assembling the belly band, I accidentally placed my adhesive on the wrong side before adding the die-cut greenery. Instead of trying to peel everything apart and risk tearing my cardstock, I chose a much easier solution.

I simply cut another rectangle the exact same size and adhered it over the back.

Not only did it completely hide the adhesive, but it also protected the delicate die-cut leaves and gave the belly band a clean, professional finish.

Sometimes our “mistakes” actually make the project even better!

If you ever find yourself in the same situation, don’t panic—just cover it up and keep stamping. Remember…No stress!

What Makes This Fold Fun?

One of my favorite parts of this design is watching the card unfold. The accordion panels create plenty of room for beautiful Designer Series Paper while leaving space inside for a heartfelt message.

It’s a card that’s impressive to receive but surprisingly simple to create.
