Hey y’all! I have a funny story behind this week’s Mystery Monday Stamping card.
As I was looking through some of my old Mystery Stamping files, I found a set of clues I originally wrote in 2021. I thought it would be fun to pull out an old mystery and use it again.
There was only one little problem.
No picture of the finished card!
The file had the measurements and had the clues. I knew I had created a card from them at some point. But five years later, I couldn’t remember what that card looked like.
So guess what I had to do?
I had to solve my own Mystery Stamping clues!
Apparently, You CAN Go Rogue Wrong!
You know I’m always telling my Mystery Stampers, “Go rogue!” Well, take a look at the card on the right in the photo.
That was my first attempt.
I followed my old clues—or at least I thought I did—and ended up putting the pieces together incorrectly! I had officially gone rogue wrong!
So I went back to those 2021 clues, studied the measurements and score lines again, and tried to figure out what Past Sharon was trying to tell Present Sharon.
The card on the left is the solved mystery!
And suddenly I knew exactly how my Mystery Stampers feel when they’re reading one of my clues and wondering, “Sharon, where in the world are you going with this?”
I had to trust the clues, work through them one at a time and wait for the mystery to reveal itself.
And look what I ended up with!
The Solved Mystery
This card has so many layers that make it look much more complicated than it really is. As the card opens, the different scored sections create a wonderful dimensional display, while everything folds back together for a beautiful card front.
For my recreated version, I used Secret Sea Cardstock with Luxe Foliage Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the rich Secret Sea paired with all that gorgeous metallic gold.
Since the paper had gold in it, I used the gold on my focal point by stamping with VersaMark Ink and heat embossing with WOW Metallics Gold Embossing Powder. I also used my Embossing Buddy before stamping and, of course, my Heat Tool to melt that embossing powder.
The gold flower on the front adds another layer of dimension, and I added a greeting to the Basic White panel on the inside so there’s something special to see when the card is completely opened.

I think my favorite part of bringing this card back wasn’t even recreating the card—it was experiencing Mystery Stamping from the other side.
I couldn’t peek at the finished project, nor could I rely on my memory. All I had were the clues.
For once, I really was one of the Mystery Stampers!
That’s exactly why I love Mystery Monday Stamping. Everyone starts with the same basic supplies and the same clues, but no two cards ever have to look exactly alike.
