Triangle Cards Layout: The Next Big Thing for Making Simple Cards

Cards for Friends· Gallery

9 Feb

This Triangle cards layout is fantastic because you can make 2 handmade cards at one time. It’s super easy and versatile. I don’t know why I waited so long to try this card sketch!

In the video I show you exactly how to cut the paper correctly for your triangle cards. Watch closely and I promise you’ll get it right the first time!

This triangle cards layout is super easy and super cute!

Triangle Cards Layout | Video Tutorial

I love playing with different card sketches and layouts and this triangle cards layout is such a different one. Sometimes I just get bored with the ‘box’ look so this allows me to make some creative cards with interesting lines.

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED THIS TRIANGLE FRONT TECHNIQUE? SHARE BELOW!

I made this triangle cards layout with the Stampin' Up! Friends are like seashells stamp set.

Triangle Cards Layout Measurements:

  • Sand and Sea Designer Series Paper – 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Flirty Flamingo Cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Basic White Thick Cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
  • Scraps of Basic White and Flirty Flamingo for sentiments and seashells

To make your triangle cards you’ll start by placing your ‘Sand and Sea’ Designer Series paper diagonally in your paper trimmer and cut from one corner to the opposite corner. Then, turn both cut pieces together and do the same type of cut…corner to corner! Once you have created 4 triangular pieces, you are ready to make the card.

Take the Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and make the same type of cuts that you made with the Designer Series Paper above.

Ta-da! You’ve got all the bases for your amazing triangle cards layout!

To my triangle cards layout I added seashells in various colors that I cut out with scissors

If you don’t have the designer series paper like I do, make our own! Stamp all over a piece of Basic White Cardstock with assortment of stamps. Then cut your stamped cardstock the same way I did with the Sand and Sea DSP.

I featured this idea on Mystery Stamping back on February 1, 2021. If you haven’t checked out Mystery Stamping you should! Join us every Monday when I am Live on Facebook or YouTube!

The triangle cards layout also looks great with embossed cardstock

Instead of having a second piece of Designer Series Paper on these triangle cards layout I cut a piece of So Saffron Cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and used the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder.

One thing I like about this triangle cards layout is I can make 2 cards at one time.
