Scrap Paper Cards You Can Make With An Adorable Focal Point

Easy Cards· Gallery· Mystery Stamping Cards

27 Jun

Put your scrap papers to great use! Use a die-cut focal point and add scrap designer paper strips behind it to make a pretty greeting card.

Some of our designer papers come in 6” X 6” sheets and when you cut a 4” X 5 1/4” piece for a card front you have some scraps left over. We also get lots of scraps when cutting other size papers too. I created 2 adorable tea cup cards with my paper scraps and I love that this layout can be used so easily.

Regardless of the occasion, scrap paper cards are fun to make and come together quickly.

Scrap Paper Cards: The Layout You’ll Use Over & Over

Scrap-paper-cards-video-tutorial

Do you like the scrap paper card layout? Will you use this to make a card this week?

This scrap paper card layout was my Mystery Stamping project this week. When designing ‘Mystery cards’ I have to be very generic with the clues because everyone will not have the same supplies that I do. Learn more about Mystery Stamping if you have never heard of it and be sure to sign up for next week’s clues! It’s a great way to get super creative with your card making and learn to use what supplies you have. We all have scrap paper so this layout is a great place to start!

Cut scrap paper strips 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and 3/4″ x 5″ and layer them as shown.

Using the Teacup die-cut and intersecting the designer paper worked great with this layout.

Scrap Paper Card 2:

Colors used: Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis. Tea Bag String: Tahitian Tide Baker’s Twine.

On my 2nd card, I used scrap paper pieces cut at 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and 1/2″ x 5″. I had plenty of room to add the greeting and the teacup on the white cardstock layer.

For a fun twist you can add the paper scrap strips of designer series paper as shown. Overlapping the layers was fun!
