Easy Scalloped Circle Birthday Card + 3 Bonus Card Ideas!

Beginning Stamping· Card Making Ideas· Card Making Techniques

18 May

This scalloped circle birthday card is one of those designs that looks intricate, but once you see how it comes together, you’ll be making them in no time. I used products from the Bloom Boutique Suite Collection, and let me tell you… this suite does all the heavy lifting for you.

The soft blues, delicate patterns, and those gold accents? Just stunning.

During the video class, I’ll walk you through:

  • How to layer scalloped circles for a dimensional focal point
  • Tips for spacing and centering your layers perfectly
  • Easy ways to add elegance using die cuts and embellishments
  • How to create a card base using shaped dies

And that’s not all…

💡 Bonus Card Ideas

I’ll also be sharing a few additional cards I created using the same suite. This is one of my favorite ways to craft—take one set of supplies and create multiple looks!

Video Tutorial

My goal is to inspire you and help you with your cardmaking. I invite you to watch me on my YouTube Channel every Monday night at 7:00 PM Central…the live chat community is amazing, and you are invited to be a part of it! Come hang out, get inspired, and let’s create together.

Gold embossed vellum

I love Vellum so much, and I also love Heat embossing, and when you combine the two, you have a very elegant card! As I shared in the video, I embossed one side by stamping the flowers with VersaMark ink, pouring WOW Gold Embossing powder over them, and heat-setting. I let my card cool, then flipped it over and used Stampin’ Blends to color the back. The colors I chose were Hydrangea Hue, Blueberry Bushel, and Highland Heather.

Three flowers with wink of stella

I created this card by stamping the flowers and leaves on a scrap piece of Basic White with Hydrangea Hue. I then colored the images with Hydrangea Hue Stampin’ Blends Light. I used my scissors to cut out the flowers since I stamped the leaves with the flowers. You can use the dies and cut them separately too.

I wrapped a piece of Hydrangea Hue 3/8″ ribbon around the middle of the DSP layer. Then I adhered the Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Paper to the Hydrangea Hue card base. As I added the flowers to the card front, I used dies to cut out some Hydrangea Hue leaves. Tucking those in between the flowers.

On my blog, I shared a video on May 4 on how to create four backgrounds in my Technique Spotlight class. If you missed it you can see it HERE. Since I had a piece lying on my craft table, I decided to use it to make another birthday card!

Every month I offer a class that I call Technique Spotlight. I create a tutorial using the technique I share in class.

You can get it FREE when you:
Place a $50+ order in my online store during May, or you can purchase it in my store HERE

This is my way of saying thank you and helping you build your technique library.
