Ready for a WOW double embossing card technique you’ll love? If you want card making ideas that glimmer & shine then this tutorial is for you!
Bringing y’all another cute stamp set today…Morning Star! The reason I am excited about this stamp set is because it coordinates with the Stitched Stars Dies from the Holiday Catalog. When one catalog ends Stampin’ Up! will carryover some of the items. Technically these dies are not in any catalog but you can find them on my website when you are shopping.
Since there aren’t many ways I can pull in my favorite Copper Embossing and Copper Foil I took this opportunity to do just that! This is fun Technique I’m calling Double Embossing. I embossed the Whisper White layer with the New Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, then I dragged the Versamark Ink Pad over the top left and bottom right corners! Super Fun and lots of Copper! No worries if this is too over the top for you below I share some very easy cards that you will love!
Double Embossing Card Technique: Tutorial
Grab your best card making supplies–copper! Copper foil and copper embossing powder are the star of this double embossing card technique. Reach for the stars and remind others to do the same when you send this embossed greeting card to your friends and family.

Have you ever tried the Double Embossing Card technique?
On my video I show you how I made this card and explain some tips to help you. As you can see by the photo below there is lots of that gorgeous Copper! This card is only using the sentiment from Morning Star.
Double Embossing Card Measurements
- Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″
- Copper Foil – 4 1/8″ 5 3/8″ – (make sure you watch my video where I share how to paper save that Copper!)
- Very Vanilla Cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″, 1/2″ strip for sentiment, scrap for star
Another Card with the Stampin’ Up! Morning Star
Pulling in the Stitched Stars Dies I stamped the five point leaf image and the Morning Glory then cut them out with the Dies. Stamp the leaves with Granny Apple Green then stamp stars and flower with Gorgeous Grape. I know that I can think of several of my older grandkids that I could send this card to since I always tell them I am “So Proud of You!”
Measurements
- Gorgeous Grape Cardstock – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″, scrap for star
- Whisper White Cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap for star
Can you image how someone will feel when I send this card to them? Acknowledging them for being them! Stamping this card works better if you alternate the leaves and flowers. Otherwise you may not have enough room for the flowers if you just stamp the leaves first. I started with the longer vine stamp then added the flowers, filling in with the smaller leaves as needed. Once again I colored the Basic Rhinestones with a Stampin’ Blend…Granny Apple Green!
Measurements
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″, scrap for star
- Gorgeous Grape Cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White Cardstock – 3 3/4″ x 5″
