Using just a few supplies we’re going to create 3 easy card making backgrounds you can make. These are part of my Easy Peasy 1-2-3 series!
I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for over 22 years and I have learned so much over the years, mostly by trial and error! I want to shorten the learning curve so that you don’t make the same mistakes I did and you can learn more quickly. Back when I started there wasn’t Pinterest or even the internet so we had to figure most things out on our own.
Whether you are just starting card making or are a seasoned stamper you can easily use these techniques to create quick cards. You can stamp them the way I did or make them as fancy as you want! It all starts with the backgrounds! To help you remember these three background techniques I created a PDF and you can download it below.

Which card making backgrounds will you first create? Let me know!
Supplies I used are Two Stamp Pads, Brayers, Sponges, Daubers and Plastic Wrap! Use Whisper White Cardstock to create all of your background layers then you can add additional layers like I did with Basic Black. Using the Sponge Brayer I added the Daffodil Delight ink first then applied the Pumpkin Pie. The intensity is totally up to you…stay light or go darker like I did! Ink dries fairly quickly but as I mentioned on my video you will want to make sure the ink is dry before you touch it or you will leave fingerprints.

All three cards were made using the same ink pad colors: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Memento Tuxedo Black which helps beginners realize they can start with the very basic supplies and create fun cards to share with family and friends!
Take a piece of clear wrap (from your kitchen cabinet!) ball it up and tap into the Daffodil Delight ink pad. Then tap onto the Whisper White layer twisting and turning to achieve a varied pattern. Switch to the Pumpkin Pie ink pad and do the same thing. Stamping images and sentiments with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Punches and Vellum along with Sponge Daubers helped create this card. First I used a quarter of a sponge and covered the Whisper White layer with Daffodil Delight to create the beginning of this background technique. On the video I share with you how easily you can create a Bokeh technique using Sponges. Remember that just by having different backgrounds all of you cards can look different!
