A Greeting Card Embossing Technique That Will Blow Your Mind

Cards for Friends· Gallery· Uncategorized

21 Apr

I’ve got a greeting card embossing technique that will blow your mind! I’m going to show you how to make embossed cards like you’ve never seen before!

When I first pulled out the ‘To A Wild Rose’ stamp set I struggled. Today I was determined to play with this stamp set and make some beautiful handmade cards!  I remembered one of my YouTube stamping friends asking me a question about my Sepia Technique card (if you missed it make sure you view that card here). I had a light bulb moment and came up with this card making design idea!

Since I love heat embossing and embossing techniques in general I thought this would be a great tutorial to share with all of you. Enjoy!

Greeting Card Embossing Technique That Will Blow Your Mind

This greeting card embossing technique is so fun. It take a few steps but the results are beautiful. I encourage you to get out your embossing powders, different colors of cardstock and foils and have fun! You’ll be so happy to have learned how to use your heat embossing tool to create such a lovely card!

Will you be trying the technique on today’s card? Let me know!

On the video I shared a paper saving tip when you are cutting your layers especially Copper!

This cut out piece is plenty big enough to use for your sentiment layers…see, no waste!!!!

To create this card use Stampin’ Sponges and sponge three areas of Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink onto the Shimmery White Cardstock.

Stamp the more abstract Rose from ‘To a Wild Rose’ with Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink, then stamp the solid leaves with Old Olive Classic Ink

Next, sponge Old Olive Classic Ink to fill in all of the spaces.  Let the ink dry, then rub with the embossing buddy.  Stamp the outline of flowers with Versamark Ink.  Pour Gold Embossing Powder over and heat set.

Use the Outline Leaves image and stamp over Old Olive Leaves with Versamark Ink, Pour Gold embossing powder over, and then heat set.

Create this greeting card embossing technique the same way as above. Switch to Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green Classic Inks.  And then switch embossing powder to white.  Totally different look but still a lovely card!

These cards have already gone off in today’s mail to some seniors who are so lonely and need to know that I am thinking about them during this time where we are all staying home.

Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for the idea and inspiration. Love this and am definitely going to make these, using a different stamp set. Not wild about Wild Rose
