Go Rogue Cardmaking: Easy Handmade Card Tutorial for Beginners

Beginning Stamping· Card Making Ideas· Card Making Techniques· Mystery Stamping Cards

10 Nov

Hey y’all! I’m TxStampin’ Sharon, and I’m so happy you’re here for another round of Mystery Monday Stamping — my free, stress-free, and fun cardmaking class on YouTube.

Each Mystery Monday, I provide a Clue #1 supply list on Sunday so that you can prepare your papers and stamps. Then, on Monday night, we create a surprise card design together, step by step — you won’t know what it looks like until the end! That’s what makes it so much fun.

And the best part? You can go rogue anytime — switch up the colors, rotate the layout, or use your favorite Designer Series Paper. There’s no stress here, just creativity and joy!

About This Week’s Card

This week’s card was a clean, easy landscape-style design perfect for beginners. It features simple layers, stamped greetings, and just a touch of Designer Series Paper to pull everything together.

You can use this layout for birthdays, thank-you notes, or Christmas cards — change the colors or stamps to match your occasion.

✂️ Clue #1 – Supplies You’ll Need

  • Basic White Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”
  • Colored Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼”
  • Same Colored Cardstock – ½” x 5 ¼”, plus scrap
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 2” x 5”
  • Basic White – 3 ¾” x 5”, plus scrap
  • Dies, Punches, Snips
  • Stamps – Images and greetings
  • Ink – Your favorite coordinating colors
  • Coloring Tools (optional)
  • Adhesives – Including Dimensionals
  • Embellishments

💡 Tip: This week’s card was designed as a landscape layout, but you can easily rotate it to portrait for a completely different look!

Why “Go Rogue” Cardmaking Works

My two Mystery Monday rules are simple:

  1. No Stress.
  2. Just Go Rogue.

When you give yourself permission to relax and experiment, you’ll rediscover why you fell in love with stamping in the first place.

Mystery Monday isn’t just about learning new techniques — it’s about enjoying the process, connecting with other crafters, and celebrating creativity without pressure.
