Looking for a creative way to celebrate a loved one’s birthday? Learn how to make a fun fold birthday card in this week’s Mystery Stamping session. 

This free class offers an adaptable and simple card tutorial that will add a personal touch to your birthday greetings. Get ready to unleash your stamping creativity and surprise your loved one with a unique and memorable card.

Birthdays are special days, especially for kids and my granddaughter so I made a bright and colorful card using Stampin’ Up! ‘Best Butterflies’ dies and Designer Series Paper. If your card is belated then choose an appropriate sentiment; I used a stamp from ‘Something Fancy’ set.

Fun Fold Card Clue #1: Supply List

  • Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
  • Cardstock Same Color: 3″ x 3″
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP) Different Patterns: 1 3/4″ x 5 3/8″, 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″, (2) 2 1/4″ x 5 3/8″, scrap
  • Basic White: 4” x 5 3/8”, Scrap
  • Stamps
  • Inks including coloring tools if you need them
  • Punches, Dies, Snips
  • Adhesive including Dimensionals
  • Embellishments
  • Paper Trimmer with a scoring tool

Remaining Fun Fold Card clues

These clues were given during Mystery Monday Stamping on YouTube….

CLUE #2: Score Cardstock 5-½” x 8-½” at 1-7/8” and at 4-¼”

CLUE #3: Use the Bone folder to give all score lines a crease creating a Z-Fold

CLUE#4: Adhere designer paper 1-¾” x 5-3/8” to front flap with adhesive

CLUE #5: Add 1 designer paper panel 2-¼” x 5-3/8” to the other portion of the front of the card with adhesive

CLUE #6: Add the 2nd piece of designer paper 2-¼” x 5-3/8” to the inside of the card on the left panel with adhesive

CLUE #7: If using colored cardstock, add White layer 4” x 5-3/8” to the inside of the card on the right panel with adhesive

CLUE #8: Stamp greeting on white scrap, die cut, punch, or cut down with scissors or paper trimmer

CLUE 8B: Adhere the 2-7/8” x 2-7/8” DSP to the 3” x 3” Cardstock with adhesive **Don’t glue your card shut.

CLUE #9: Use designer paper scrap to create a mat for your greeting layer, and adhere both together with adhesive.  Add to the card front with Dimensionals.

CLUE #10: If you wish to add an image to your card front, create that now by stamping and cutting it out with punches, dies, or scissors.  Add with adhesive

CLUE #11: Does your card need anything else like embellishments or ribbon?  Add that now.

I chose to use two cardstock colors, Fresh Freesia & Starry Sky, for my focal point butterfly since I was indecisive and I think it turned out so fun! I used a Pastel Pearl embellishments for the butterfly’s head!
