Card 1: Color Die Cuts + Stamping off
I wanted to use darker ink, like Soft Suede, on some of the Palm trees so I did some ‘stamping off’. Then, I added different shades to color my die cuts. The sun was simply stamped.
Card 2: Paradise Palms Inspired By The Catalog…
I couldn’t copy this design exactly as shown in the catalog because I didn’t have the layer of designer paper the artist used. Instead, I embossed the Very Vanilla cardstock layer using the ‘dots’ folder that is in the ‘Checks and Dots’ embossing pack (retiring May 2, 2022).
From learning how to color die cuts, to stamping off, to improvising…we covered a lot of topics today!
I hope seeing these 2 cards re-created inspires you to copy cards from the Stampin’ Up! Catalogs and change things up when you need to!
