I’ve got 3 clever embossing folder techniques for greeting cards to share with you today. All you need is an embossing folder, an ink pad and some paper!
These clever embossing folder techniques can be used in so many different ways. I’m using a gorgeous folder called ‘Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder’ that is available in the January-June 2020 Mini catalog.
This folder has such detail to it and was perfect for today’s greeting card!
Stamp set used on all cards is Layering With Kindness on page 41 of the Mini Catalog along with the punches I used.

Which background was your favorite? I’d love to know!
On this card I embossed the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White cardstock then drug the Blueberry Bushel ink pad across it. You want to try and keep the pad as flat as possible. If your ink goes in places you don’t want it to I don’t feel that is a bad thing! It just adds more to the effect!
The sentiment layer was created using the Label Me Lovely and Label Me Fancy punches. I am finding these are my go to punches right now because they can be used with many sentiments!
The slot in the Label Me Fancy punch was perfect to feed my ribbon thru!
There are two sides to every embossing folder. One side will emboss while the other side de-imbosses. On this card I used the ink pad to cover the embossed side and here is what that looked like. On the video I explain that if you have an area that has too much ink, simply cover that part up with the strip of Blueberry Bushel cardstock that I also embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.
Here is what the de-embossed side looks like when I inked it up also with Blueberry Bushel!
A tip I shared on the video about securing the ribbon is to use scotch tape on the back!
