Transform your stamps with this versatile Stampin’ Write Markers technique! Color directly on rubber or photopolymer stamps for stunning multi-color impressions. Pro tip: Gently breathe on the stamp before pressing to rehydrate the ink for perfect results.

4. Ombre Sentiments

Blend two or three shades of the same color directly on a stamp or sentiment die-cut for an ombre effect.
5. Faux Watercolor Stamping

Color your stamp with markers, spritz it with water, and stamp for a soft, watercolor look. After that dries, you can stamp with the image again to give a little more detail.
6. Splatters and Flicking

Use darker or contrasting colors for dramatic interest.
7. Coloring Die-Cuts

Instead of using colored cardstock, die-cut shapes from white cardstock and color them with markers.
8. Shadowing Stamped Images

Use a light gray or pale color marker to add shadows around stamped images for dimension.
9. Custom Plaid Backgrounds

Draw lines with water-based markers to create plaid or striped backgrounds in any color combination.
10. Ink Blending with Markers

Apply marker ink to a blending brush or sponge and blend onto cardstock for a soft gradient.
11. Faux Watercolor Technique

Stamp your image in a light ink, then use water-based markers with a water brush to blend colors for a no-line effect.
12. Color Wash with Acetate

Scribble marker ink onto a piece of plastic wrap, spritz with water, and press onto cardstock for a unique texture.
13. Layered Stamping with Different Colors (thumping technique)

Ink up a large bold stamp with an ink pad. Apply markers in different sections of a stamp by “thumping” the marker on the stamp to create a multi-layered or rainbow effect.
14. Add Details and Highlights

Use fine-tipped markers to add small details, faux stitching, or highlights to images.
15. Coloring on Vellum

Water-based Markers work beautifully on vellum for a soft, translucent effect. Let it dry completely to avoid smearing
16. Watercolor Resist

Use a white crayon or embossing resist, then color over it with water-based markers for a fun reveal.
17. Stencil Coloring

Use markers directly through a stencil and blend with a water brush for soft or defined patterns.
18. Color Reveal:

Use a water-based marker to color over a heat-embossed design. The embossed areas will resist the ink and reveal the design when wiped with a tissue.
19. Ombre Wash:

Use a water brush to blend marker ink from dark to light across a card base.
20. Color your ribbon:

Color a white ribbon with markers, spritz it with water, and let it dry to create a gradient-colored ribbon that matches your card design perfectly
