Want To See My Must-Have Word Dies In Action? Check Out These Greeting Cards

Birthday Cards· Christmas Cards· Gallery· Holiday

4 Nov

I love to use my word dies to make greeting cards. I made 2 Christmas cards and a birthday card with the Stampin’ Up! Words of Cheer bundle.

Want to see these must-have word dies in action? Even though these cards look like they take a long time to make they don’t and the dies do most of the work!

Another bonus about these word dies is they are small so you can run 2 through your die cutting machine at the same time with different scraps of colored cardstock.

What’s Unique About These Word Dies?

These word dies have a 2-step type of system. One is for the background and the other is for the ‘forward’ facing word…you can create a shadow effect this way!

You can see in the image below that the background on this word die I cut in white and the top word layer is in red.

Have you used word dies before? Got any favorites? Share your thoughts with me!

In the card below I cut out the Evening Evergreen holly leaves and adhered them to the back of the layer with glue (watch the video to get the best view & tips).

The word dies has multiple layering pieces which give you fun choices in your card designs. Check out how I used the ‘Cheers’ word in silver foil and then added red foil behind the word. Very Christmasy don’t ya’ think?! I’ve got tips for how to add the individual letters (watch the video)

In addition to using the word dies I added silver embossing powder for the Poinsettia & Greenery image.

What? Make a handmade Birthday card with the Words of Cheer Bundle? Absolutely! I die cut the ‘happy’ word die using the rainbow glimmer paper. The Birthday Greeting came from ‘Biggest Wish’ stamp set by Stampin’ UP!

The adorable ice cream cone was punched from the rainbow glimmer paper using the ‘Ice Cream Cone’ craft punch. I stamped the cone in gorgeous grape ink.

Use the ‘Cute Stars’ adhesive backed sequins to finish off this cheerful birthday card.

Now which Grandchild gets this adorable card?? That is my dilema!
