What Can You Do With Triangle Paper Scraps? Make a Fun Handmade Card!

Easy Cards· Gallery· Mystery Stamping Cards

9 May

If you have triangle paper scraps you can use them to create simple and amazing handmade cards.

To start your card you’ll want some paper scraps that coordinate with each other. Cut the scraps into rectangles first and then go one step further by cutting them in half on the diagonal to make triangles. Using a variety of coordinating designer papers will give you more options when you go to make your handmade card.

Everyone I know falls in love with their scrapbook papers and designer papers so turning these triangle paper scraps into a card is a great way to feature those scrap papers.

Want to stretch your gold foil cardstock? Cut the circle layering (using layering circle dies) from the center of the square mat. Since the mat gets covered up with a layer of white cardstock nobody will ever know and you make the most of your foil paper!

☀️ What designer paper will you use to make your triangle paper scraps card? I’m excited to read what you plan to use!

Triangle Paper Scraps Card Version 2

This card uses the same Designer Series Paper as I used on my first card. I used a gold stripe pattern for the 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer.

You can also use a scrap of the DSP for the greeting layer!

The stamp set I used for both of my triangle paper scraps cards was from ‘Tasteful Touches’; it’s retiring May 2, 2022 (or while supplies last) so if you don’t have that one it’s a great one to pick up now.

I was inspired by fellow Demonstrator, Julie Dimatteo, to use this layout for today’s Mystery Monday Stamping. When I am giving clues for Mystery Monday Stamping I can’t assume everyone has certain dies, punches, etc. so I look to make cards that use the basics–paper, inks & stamps. I really loved finding a fun layout to put my triangle paper scraps to good use.
