What Are The 12 Reasons I Love My New Stampin’ Glass Mat?

Gallery· Specials & Promotions

25 Jan

The Stampin’ Glass Mat has been nothing short of a game-changer in my crafting space and I am thrilled to introduce you to this amazing product. There are 12 reasons why I have fallen head over heels for this innovative tool.

First, you need to know that the mat is currently only being offered as a gift ($60 value) to those who join Stampin’ Up! During Sale-A-Bration, which runs from January 4, 2024 through February 29, 2024.

As a passionate crafter, finding the perfect surface for my stamping endeavors has always been a quest. The Stampin’ Glass Mat not only meets but exceeds those expectations, offering a flawless canvas for creativity. I will share the features and benefits that make the Stampin’ Glass Mat an indispensable companion for any avid crafter.

After sharing all the glory of the Stampin’ Glass mat, I hope that you will consider joining my team! We are a friendly group of stampers who enjoy the benefits of being a demonstrator, including the amazing order discounts we get. Most of my team has no desire to blog or produce videos and the beauty is they don’t have to—I support each individual in their personal goals even if that’s simply joining to get the order discount!

Let’s dive into the twelve reasons why this remarkable mat has secured a permanent place in my crafting heart…..

🥳 What do you think of the Stampin’ Glass Mat Studio? Are you dying to get these goodies?

about the Stampin’ glass mat

  • It is scratch-resistant
  • Has Tempered safety glass that is 5mm thick and weighs about 4lbs
  • Safety tips can be removed
  • Has rubber feet which raise it a little off of your table
  • Can easily be clean with the included cloth and water–no chemicals needed

Reason #1: The Grid Lines

Use the grid on the glass mat to perfectly line up your greeting stamps. The photopolymer stamps stick great to the glass. Once the stamp is perfectly aligned you can then use your clear block to pick it up and stamp.

Not completely sure if your sentiment stamp is perfectly aligned? Just ink your stamp and stamp right on the glass mat using the grid lines. You can make sure the alignment is perfect and then wipe the ink from the mat–no need to waste an inch of paper or cardstock to test it!

Reason #2 The PeRfect Cushion For Stamping

Until now, I have used the paper piercing mat to offer additional cushioning when stamping with photopolymer stamps. But now I have another surface in addition to the piercing mat to stamp on!

Reason #3 Stamp Off Without Wasting Paper or Having Messy Clean-Up

Sometimes you ink a stamp that is too dark and you want a lighter shade. You can stamp off onto the glass mat as often as you want without wasting paper and then easily clean it with a cloth and water. The glass mat studio comes with a shammy cloth, but I didn’t want all my ink on that so I opted to use a damp paper towel on the glass first to soak up some of that ink and then finished cleaning with the included shammy.

reason #4 Heat Resistant

When heat embossing, I usually protect my table top with a cutting board wrapped in Aluminum Foil, but the glass mat is heat resistant so it’s all I need. No burning fingers or any issues at all.

reason #5 Transfers Ink for Use WIth BLending Brushes

I love to use blending brushes, and the glass mat makes them even more fun to use! Ink up your blending brush, start applying ink to the glass mat, and then move over to your cardstock for a smooth and even application onto your cardstock. Need more ink? Simply pick it up directly from the glass mat.

reason #6 No Block Needed for Large Background Stamps

I have several of the large background stamps that require a large block (Block F). Not everyone has such a large block. Now you can stick the large background stamp on the glass mat, easily ink it up it up and then place a piece of cardstock on top of the inked background stamp. Cover the cardstock with a piece of scrap paper and rub. You just stamped upside down!

reason #7 Use Your Mat As A Palette With Embossing Paste

I love craft techniques like coloring with embossing paste! With the glass mat, you can plop some paste on it, add some ink refill drops to it, mix with the spatula, and add to your decorative mask. When you are done it’s easy to clean the mat. I love the look of the background for my card and it’s a big plus not having messy clean-up!

reason #8 Your Glass Mat Makes Background Techniques easy!

Want a fun background technique for your papercrafts? Scribble Stampin’ Blends in your choice of colors onto the glass mat, spritz with Alcohol (91% or higher), tap your cardstock to the pool of ink, and Viola! you have a great background to use with easy, waste-free clean up!

REASON #9 Glass Mat Will Not Bleed Colors through To Surface below

Stampin’ Blends or other coloring products can sometimes bleed through cardstock, but when you use them on the glass mat, you don’t have to worry about them messing up your work surface.

reason #10 Makes A Great Watercolor Palette

Tap an ink pad or scribble a water-based marker onto the glass mat. Next, add a few drops of water with a brush and watercolor your cardstock! The Glass Mat Studio comes with a white silicone mat so your ink pads and other products can be placed on it, and it won’t slip or slide. Also, water-based mediums will not dry or soak through on the glass therefor, the colors are more vibrant on your project!

reason #11 Silicone Mat Included

A silicone mat is included, which is great! It has 4 palette squares for custom-color mixing or holding Stampin’ Spots and an area that will hold a large ink pad.

You could also use the smaller squares in the mat to mix drops of ink and water from our refiller bottles. The larger rectangle holds water giving you a spot for every element you need.

reason #12 Scratch Resistant Surface

You can use your Take Your Pick attachments like the hobby blade for precision cutting or the rotary perforating tip directly on the glass without scratching it! You can use a ruler and the grid lines of the glass mat and cut images without fear of messing up the surface!

How to clean the glass mat

I have several tips to help you clean the surface

  • The Shammy that comes with the Glass Mat Studio is great! Add water to it and wipe your surface clean. Store the cloth in a zip lock or a plastic stamp case until the next use.
  • When using Stampin’ Blends use a paper towel first, then apply some hand sanitizer to clean the glass mat
  • If a lot of ink is on the mat, wipe it first with a paper towel or baby wipe, then use a wet shammy cloth.
