What Are SIP Cards? See 3 Ways I Use Stamps, Ink, And Paper

Gallery

8 Feb

Forget complicated! Whip up 3 charming SIP cards (Stamps, Ink, Paper) with any floral stamp set. I’m showing off the Painted Lavender set by Stampin’ Up! but use whatever you have on hand. This method is perfect for any skill level, including beginning card makers! Each card takes just 3 pieces of cardstock and some embellishments.

I know that Lavender isn’t blue, but I wanted to be creative and play with different colors. For the first SIP card, I chose to use Blueberry Bushel and Garden Green inks. Using Stampin’ blends and a ruler, I marked off the area where I wanted to stamp the greeting. Don’t let traditional colors limit your imagination! You’ll want to watch the video to learn how to make all three of these SIP cards.

SIP Cards: The Quick & Simple Tutorial

👉 Are you excited to make your SIP cards? What stamp set will you use? I can’t wait to hear about your creative ideas!

One great thing about this SIP design is that it’s versatile! Choose a greeting stamp that fits the occasion you’re creating for, use a Stampin’ Blend, marker, or pen, and mark a space off to stamp your greeting.

I used Blueberry Bushel Cardstock for my base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4. The Basic Black layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the stamped white layer measures 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.

Finish your SIP card with some sweet embellishments like the Tinsel Gems Four Pack, and your card is done!

I loved using the color combination of Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green! With its masked greeting and vibrant floral bursts, this surprise card steals the show. I started stamping from the bottom and stopped when it looked like I wanted.

You can see that I stamped the inside layer of the card to coordinate and carry the theme throughout.

The stamp set is called ‘Painted Lavender’, so of course, I needed to make an SIP card using Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. The technique is the same as the previous two cards, but I switched stamps in the set. This card was super quick to stamp.
