I love when I can make shimmery greeting cards that are simple and beautiful with bright colors. This hand made card is so cheerful.

I am often asked how I start creating card design ideas so today let’s chat about these 3 cards and my process.

Card design inspiration comes from many things — sometimes it’s just the stamp set, or Designer Series Paper, a Fun Fold card I want to try, or sometimes just the ribbon I want to use to make a greeting card.

The Stampin’ Up! ‘So Much Love’ was the focal point of this shimmery greeting card. I love the sentiment ‘You Made My Day’!

What Color Would you Make Your Shimmery Greeting Cards in?

To make my shimmery greeting cards 'shine' I used Wink of Stella pen on the flowers.

This was the 1st card I started with. I had a piece of Basic White that measured 2″ x 4″ on my craft table so I stamped it in a subtle yellow.

I have a download for y’all today with all of my measurements and supplies that I used to make all three cards so be sure to keep scrolling for that.

I loved using my Stampin' Blends on my greeting cards.

Grabbed my Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends to make a shimmery greeting card number 2. Notice that the layers are 4 1/4″ not just 4″. I took the layer all of the way to the edge of the card base. Keeping it to just stamps, ink and paper and added my favorite Matte Black Dots to the greeting card.

This greeting card features a masking technique.

This 3rd card I used a masking technique on a 3 3/4″ X 5″ cardstock panel. One shimmery flower in Melon Mambo and the other in Highland Heather. The shimmer on all of these cards was created with Wink of Stella.
