Make Greeting Cards With Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose

Cards for Friends· Gallery· Mystery Stamping Cards

10 Oct

You can make greeting cards so beautifully with the Stampin’ Up! Cottage Rose bundle. This card layout is easily adaptable too.

Cottage Rose is one of those stamp sets that begs you to sit down and color. I chose to stamp my flower in Memento black and color with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. It would also look elegant when embossed! The nice thing when you make greeting cards like this is that you have lots of options—watercolor pencils, Stampin’ Write markers, soft pastel chalks—whatever you choose your card will be beautiful!

This greeting card was originally designed for the Creativate Pajama Party that we held a few weeks ago. Anyone who joined our team during the July/August Sale-a-Bration period was invited to this event. We had so much fun sharing new greeting card ideas—one of the many reasons being on my team is extra fun.

Make Greeting Cards With Bold Floral Images

Using a large bold, floral image for the focal point of your greeting card makes the design process easy.

Make Greeting Cards Extra Interesting with Dry Embossing

Dry embossed lines on a cardstock layer gives your greeting card more interest

The fun element my Mystery Stampers loved about this greeting card was scoring a cardstock layer every 1/4″; it adds interest and dimension to the layer.

While the Mystery Stampers don’t know my choice of stamps or cardstock ahead of time the card layout and technique can be used by everyone who plays along live.

The embossed score lines make this layer look like wainscotting on walls! My daughter recently created this look in my grandson’s room and it looks so nice!

Bonus Tip: Make Greeting Cards Match The Envelope

Make your greeting card extra special with this tip: Decorate the Envelope! Especially if you want to color with Stampin’ Blends you’ll want to place a scrap piece of cardstock inside your envelope while coloring to prevent the color from bleeding through to the back side of your envelope.
