Was there something new you learned today? I’d love to know!

A couple of weeks ago when I asked my stamping friends what card struggles did they have and repeatedly the question came up about Tuxedo Black and StazOn ink pads, which one to use. Answer is both but depends on which coloring tools you are using.

Memento ink is used when you want to color with Stampin' Blends. It is water based.

  • You can use alcohol Stampin’ Blends to color after your stamped image is dry.
  • Fade resistance
  • Dries Fast – make sure it is dry before coloring
The memento black ink pads are perfect for using with Stampin' Blends.

The Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad is permanent ink that is great for stamping images you want to watercolor or for stamping on Window Sheets (acetate), cellophane bags, and other nonporous surfaces. Clean stamps with StazOn Cleaner after using StazOn ink. To protect the adhesive on cling stamp labels, rinse cling stamps with water immediately after using StazOn Cleaner.

  • Acid free
  • Refill available
  • Can use water based Stampin’ Write Markers to color images
  • Use StazOn Cleaner – StazOn Cleaner is best used to minimize staining of red rubber stamps when using StazOn Ink. It is recommended to clean the stamps with Stampin’ Mist after using StazOn Cleaner.
Can you guess what ink pads I used to make this card.

Look at all the ink pads in the Stampin' Up! Classic Ink formula.

Now let’s chat about other ink pads and how to use those!

Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads are your every day stamp pads! Classic Stampin’ Pads contain a fast drying, dye-based ink that is great for general stamping or for coloring techniques like watercoloring. Classic Stampin’ Pads come in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors, grouped in collections to take the guesswork out of color coordination. Many of our other products come in the same exclusive colors, so it’s easy to pair stamp pads with cardstock, markers, embellishments, and more! Years ago, when I first started I went to a local craft store and purchased cardstock, inks and none of it coordinated at all…total waste of money! LOL!

With classic ink pads you can use water brushes or blender pens
VersaMark is the ink you need to use for heat embossing.

VersaMark ink appears a few shades darker than the cardstock it’s stamped on. That makes it great for creating tone-on-tone or watermark effects. It’s also perfect for heat embossing. Use it with embossing powder and a heat tool to heat emboss stamped images.

You can see the difference on this ink before and after applying embossing powder.
This is the Stampin' Up! Whisper White ink and refill.

Whisper White craft ink is rich, permanent pigment ink that is great for embossing or for creating an opaque look on dark cardstock. Perfect for a chalkboard look on Basic Black Cardstock. You can also use it on wood, fabric, and other materials. The Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad comes uninked with a Whisper White Craft Ink Refill you can use to ink the pad before use.

Craft white ink on black cardstock looks stunning.
