How To Make A Split Front Greeting Card

Fun Folds Cards· Gallery· Uncategorized

4 Apr

I’m thrilled to show you how to make a split front greeting card today! It’s been awhile since I made a fun fold card like this so I am excited to share this tutorial.

The Stamp set I chose was the Stampin’ Up! ‘Peaceful Moments’ for the Sentiments and Dies however I quickly also grabbed ‘Painted Poppies’ stamp set for these cards too since these two bundles go so well together.

This split front greeting card beckons to be enjoyed so I chose not to cover the front with a greeting. I wanted to show off the gorgeous paper and the posies. The Posies were colored using Poppy Parade Combo Stampin’ Blends.

The leaves on this split front greeting card came from the ‘Painted Poppies Elements’ and were watercolored with Old Olive and Aqua Painters.

Today’s cards are because of a request by one of my Stamping Friends.  She asked if I could teach how to make a Split Front card using Painted Poppies since she saw one online made by Heike Hulle-Bolze.  So a shout out to Heike, creator of the card that inspired Jill Pechauer.

Split Front Greeting Card Tutorial:

This is a fancy fold card that’s perfect to show off those beautiful scrapbook papers. All your friends will want to know how to make a split front greeting card too. Watch the tutorial for all the tips and tricks I share.

Stamp Thank You inside or any other sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.  Fingers crossed Peaceful Moments carries over to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog because it is my favorite go to Sentiment set!!!

Stamping a sentiment on the Whisper White would have worked for this card.  However, I decided that the Whisper White needed to be embossed.  Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder was perfect for this card to continue the leaves theme of the dies.

The large Posy flower was created using the dies.  The solid portion was from the Painted Posies DSP while the outline details was cut with Poppy Parade cardstock.

All three of my cards look so different thanks to the Peaceful Poppies DSP!  I loved how the large Poppies DSP worked so well on this card!

Have you tried the Split Front Technique?

On my video I show you how to make these types of cards.  These photos may help you remember too!

Making a template will help you make these cards and anymore in the future.  I shared how to reuse this on my video.  You can adapt the measurements if you want your Split front card to look different.
