How to Make a DIY Gift Card Holder with Paper Pumpkin Kit

Card Making Kits· Gallery· Gift Card Holder

2 Jul

Let’s make a DIY gift card holder as an alternate paper pumpkin kit project! This uses the April 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit but use whatever you have on hand!

Paper Pumpkin is a surprise gift that you can receive every month!  The April 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit included a Z fold card!  I love fun folds but I wanted to get creative and come up with an alternate idea so now I’m going to show you how to make a DIY gift card holder!

For today’s project you will need 12″ x 12″ cardstock to make this Gift Card holder or the supplies from the April 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit!  Stampin’ Up! sells 12″ x 12″ cardstock in so many colors so the possibilities are endless!

Paper Pumpkin craft time is a winner in my book every month. Today, I’m going to show you how to think outside the box and make a DIY gift card holder. If you don’t have the April 2020 kit, that’s OK…you can follow along using supplies you have. You’ll need a 12 X 12 piece of cardstock and you’ll be on your way to an awesome folded gift card holder!

I used a circle punch (doesn’t matter what size) to punch the Whisper White Cardstock to allow a thumb pull to retrieve the gift card.

Per the instructions in the April Paper Pumpkin I did make a card exactly per the instructions.  Which I love especially since it has coordinating envelopes!

Speaking of envelopes how did I do mine?  Since the leaves punch out of the paper I used it as a stencil and inked up my sponge using Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink to make my own decorated envelope!
