How to Emboss Foil Paper + New Stampin’ Up! Cut and Emboss Machine

Gallery

Want a neat trick for learning how to emboss foil paper? Check out this fun handmade card and look at the new cut and emboss machine too!

Y’all when the NEW Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine arrived of course I wanted to try it out. I decided it’s the perfect time to teach you a nifty trick on how to emboss foil paper (foil cardstock). This Fall thank you card uses the Stampin’ Up! ‘Gather Together’ bundle. The leaves are perfect for embossing with the dies on copper foil cardstock.

I’m using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. If you are using another machine or brand you will need to test out what embossing sandwich works on your foil cardstocks.

Place your copper foil cardstock and lay it face up, cover it with another piece of regular cardstock and then place your dies on top. Then, as you run this embossing sandwich through the machine it will cut the cardstock and emboss the foil papers!

When adhering foil cardstock with liquid glue smooth out the glue using the fat end of the stick so that you don’t see the glue lines through the foils. I demonstrate this in the video.

The embossing sandwich I used above shows how the white cardstock layer got cut and embossed (use it on another card) but you’ll see how this technique only embossed the foil cardstock.
