How to Make Your Own Background Paper for Card Making

Cards for Friends· Easy Cards· Gallery· Mystery Stamping Cards

12 Dec

Learn how to make your own background paper for card making! Your handmade cards are extra unique with this technique and you get to make 2 cards at one time!

The key to making this card is to first make your own background paper; this was one of the clues for Mystery Stampers, to stamp all over a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of white cardstock. Once that is done you can cut the layer into 4 triangles.

A great tip for making your own background paper? Use stamps that have small images so that you can stamp a variety to mix and match.

I love that this card works great for those new to stamping.

Not only do you get to make your own background paper but you get to mix and match cardstock colors to customize the card. I used the Quatrefoil Embossing folder but if you don’t have a Cut & Emboss machine then you can skip the embossing and just use a solid color of cardstock.

When you stamp on one piece of white cardstock and then cut it into 4 triangles you’ll be able to make 2 cards this way (see images below). Gorgeous Grape and the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder that I adhered to my Basic White card base.

It’s always helpful when you can make 2 cards at the same time! Each card can still be unique like the ones I made today.
