These handmade birthday cards for husbands can actually be made for any man in your life who loves hats!
Since my masculine card stash is getting low I needed to design some more! With my large family, I need birthday cards all the time – every month, in fact. In June baby boy Stetson will arrive (grandbaby #12 for me!) so I’ll always need these handmade birthday cards for the men in my life!
I chose the ‘Hats Off’ stamp set and paired it with the ‘In Good Taste Designer Paper’ (it’s on the retirement list so grab it before it sells out). One of the paper patterns inspired me and I took that paper and embossed it with the ‘Painted Textures’ folder so that the hat would look more like fabric.
All of the men in our family wear ball caps (as do my daughters and grandkids!) Wait ’til I tell you what I did to the DSP for this Birthday Card!
Compared to the ‘Very Vanilla’ cardstock I used on the patch, the paper pattern I chose was very white. To blend my card better I used my blending brushes with and Crumb Cake ink and changed the color!

I wanted my handmade birthday card for husbands to have a bold, strong, greeting so I pulled out the ‘Birthday Wishes’ stamp set for the greeting.
I used the Stamparatus to crank these 3 cards out quickly!
I love, love, love Misty Moonlight cardstock and ink! It is such a pretty blue to use for masculine cards and guess what? It is retiring May 2, you won’t see me use it again, sniff, sniff!
I loved the gray tones of this card but on the patch the color was too muted. After about 4 attempts I opted to try silver embossing powder (on one of the plank patterns in the DSP pack) and I loved it!
Ready to grab the ‘Hats Off’ bundle and the ‘In Good Taste’ paper before they retire and make a stash of Birthday cards?!
