What Is Foil Cardstock Used For? For Starters, Easy Greeting Cards!

Birthday Cards· Gallery· Mystery Stamping Cards

11 Sep

My mission today is to have you fall in love with foil cardstock and see how fun creating an easy greeting card is. You’ll want to check out the new foil papers that are in the NEW mini catalog (page 9). It’s hard to decipher in the catalog but trust me—these foil sheets are shiny, bright, and cheerful in Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green.

Do you think this card will be the one I send my teen granddaughter for her birthday? You bet!

In addition to foil cardstock Stampin’ Up! has blessed us with super shiny and flat Iridescent adhesive backed discs that coordinate perfectly. They come in Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Pool Party, and White. Since they are flat they don’t add any bulk when you mail them–another bonus!

Are you in love with foil cardstock like I am? Will you emboss your foil sheets and if so what folder would you like to try?

Foil cardstock can be difficult to photograph so that you see the true beauty of the paper but you can see the Bubbly Embossed impression I got on this Melon Mambo foil. You can only find this embossing folder (part of the ‘Basics Embossing Folders’) in my exclusive online store.

This easy card layout was taught during this week’s Mystery Monday Stamping session. The first clue is a list of supplies needed to make the card. Then, stampers join me live on YouTube Monday evening to make the card step-by-step. I share my card at the end of the session. Since everybody uses whatever supplies they have on hand everyone’s cards look different.
