I’ve got a fabulous Christmas gift card holder to make for anyone! Lots of us love giving gifts for the holidays but we want pretty and creative ways to give money and gift cards. Today’s project is perfect for these occasions. And, it’s not just a gift card holder idea for the holidays; change up the paper, the stamps, and make this for any occasion! BUT…Today, I’m sharing a Christmas gift card holder with the beautiful ‘Brightly Gleaming’ designer paper.
As I was writing this blog I began to wonder when did gift cards start? Neiman Marcus introduced the first gift card using a payments infrastructure in late 1994, though Blockbuster Entertainment was the first company to do so on a wide scale, test-marketing them in 1995 and launching them around the country the next year.
Christmas Gift Card Holder Made Easy!
Gift cards are easy to give but giving them in a pretty card makes the gift more thoughtful I think. I used to feel it was impersonal but my grown kids are hard to buy for these days. I do give cash to the teen age grandkids and toys to the younger ones so this Christmas gift card holder is the perfect solution!
Using a 1 1/2″ circle punch creates a way to see the ribbon so the recipient understands to pull the ribbon!
This is an example of the first card made as a Thanksgiving card. After it was made I realized I don’t send gift cards at Thanksgiving. So I want you to think about Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.
