Dots & Spots Die By Stampin’ Up! | 3 Fun Ways to Use This Die

Die Cutting· Gallery

8 Dec

The Dots & Spots Die by Stampin’ Up! is versatile in your craft room. I want to make sure you get the most bang for your buck with this die and I think you’ll enjoy watching the 3 ways I used it to create greeting cards.

I decided that it would be fun to create with the ‘Painted Posies’ and ‘Peaceful Moments’ stamp sets. I would love to see you create these cards with the Dots & Spots die and then send the cards off to congratulate your friends and family for the big and small accomplishments they’ve made!

I love sharing inspiration with you (along with free downloads) and these 3 cards made with the Dots & Spots die were super easy. Beyond making cards with these dies you could make scrapbook pages, gift tags, bookmarks and more!

Which of these 3 ways will you try first? Do you have the Dots & Spots die or are did it make your wish list after this tutorial?

3 Ways to use Dots & Spots Die

Poppy Parade cardstock cut with Die

Option 1: Die cut your cardstock! You can add the cut cardstock layer to a Basic White Card Base. To make it easy use Adhesive Sheets on the colored cardstock–way easier than trying to add glue or adhesive between those little holes!

Blending Brush with black ink used with Dots & Spots die as a ‘mask’. Card is finished off with Stylish Shapes dies for the banners, greeting is from Peaceful Moments stamp set and flower is from Painted Poppies.

Option 2: Use a Blending Brush to add black dots. I saw the die laying on my craft table and noticed the dark holes. I immediately chose a Blending Brush and added black dots to a Basic White layer!

Use die ‘upside down’ (so it doesn’t cut) and it will emboss the cardstock

Option 3: Emboss. What happens when you put the die upside down and don’t cut the paper? You get embossed dots! For best results, I first sprayed the Poppy Parade cardstock with rubbing alcohol in the Stampin’ Spritzer.

Don’t you love the Brass Butterflies flitting about those flowers?
