A Cool Card Making Technique You’ll Love to Use

Gallery· Uncategorized

10 Mar

Oooohhh, am I excited to share a cool card making technique you’ll love to use!

I am still working on Thank You cards for my friend.  I pulled out Country Home since I have not used it in a long time and I challenged myself not to use the Milk Can or the Water Can!  I had fun with my little challenge and I hope you will challenge yourself to do something similar with a stamp set.  Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the main images we lose site of the other images in a stamp set!

These two cards use a cool card making technique and are identical layout but looks different simply because of how I finished off the embossed layer and changed the stamped layer from Whisper White cardstock to Very Vanilla cardstock.

So now you know how to accomplish the cool card making technique; are you going to try it? Which card do you like best? I love hearing from you!

Embossing with a die cutting machine and embossing folders is easy and gives great texture to the card.  Add to that look by dragging an ink pad across the raised areas as I did on these two cards…card on left I used Craft White ink, card on the right I used Soft Suede ink!

Measurements

  • Soft Suede Cardstock – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock – 4″ x 11″
  • Soft Suede Cardstock – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″, 1 1/4″ x 2 1/2″
  • Whisper White or Very Vanilla Layers – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″, 1″ x 2 1/4″

Let’s look at some easy cards…change the colors, stamp the same and you have two different looks!

These two cards are similar.  They are  #simplestamping!  They look different just because I changed the cardstock and ribbon.

  • Basic Black layer (card above) measures 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Very Vanilla layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″ Card Base
  • Very Vanilla 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″

This card could easily be sent to a man.  Masculine cards are hard to make and when you use Gray Granite (4″ x 5 1/4″) and just stamp on it with Black Memento it becomes a very neutral card!

See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper really is the star of this card.  I tried to keep my layers smaller so that the gorgeous colors would show!  Measurements are: Whisper White Thick 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″, Poppy Parade 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″, Whisper White 2 1/2″ x 3″, Poppy Parade 1″ x 2 3/4″, Whisper White 3/4″ x 2 1/2″

Stamp the images four times on Very Vanilla Card Layer ( 3 3/4″ x 4 1/4″) with Black Memento, color with Stampin’ Blends.  Thank you so very much sentiment came from Flourishing Phrases.  I loved using the little Tile stamp that comes in Country home to stamp across the bottom of my card base!
