Card Making Techniques Vol 17 packs some really awesome DIY ideas so that your handmade cards have a WOW factor. This technique series has been so popular because no matter how long you’ve been stamping it’s fun to get so creative! I have been teaching techniques for almost two years and with today’s post we are up to 85 techniques!
I announced recently that this would be the last techniques class and some of you were quite unhappy about that. So…maybe this isn’t our last one. For today, enjoy crafting and creating with these techniques!

TECHNIQUE #1 Watercolor Embossed Vellum
Vellum always steps up a card but take it to a WOW by embossing the vellum and water painting the back. This technique is addicting!

Which of these in Card Making Techniques Vol 17 are you most excited to try first? I can’t wait to hear what you plan to make.
TECHNIQUE #2 Embossing with Water-based Inks Technique
Ink your stamp in clear Versamark and then again in a water-based ink pad (Stampin’ Up! Classic ink pad), stamp your image, pour clear embossing powder and heat set. You’ll have a shiny heat embossed image in whatever ink color you choose!
TECHNIQUE #3 Thumping Technique
Use both water-based inks and makers for this technique! The key is to hold your marker very ‘loosy-goosey’ in your hand! This one is an oldie but a goodie.
TECHNIQUE #4 Paper Towel Technique
Take a paper towel, drag some Stampin’ Spots across it, and create a beautiful super soft card! Remember to let the ink dry before you handle the paper towel or you will get inky fingers. Easy technique!
TECHNIQUE #5 Enamel Effects Techniques
This card actually features four techniques! Making dots, using Saran Wrap for the background, Drawing with it, and Painting with it and ink refills. So many ways to use it!
TECHNIQUE #6 Decorative Napkin Technique
For this technique, you take those pretty little napkins and cover your cardstock to make a quick, easy card background! I always end up with extra napkins after a party or get-together; this is the perfect time to try this technique.
Look how fun it is that it matches the dessert plate! I snagged these at the dollar store. As you saw on the video it is super quick to make!

Hi, Sharon! I loved all of your techniques from last night. 9/7/23. I just tried the napkin one and the napkin layers came apart so I just glued them all together. Next time I’ll separate them. Anyone else have that problem? I love what you do. Thanks so much. Lois

Oh gosh! I forgot to mention that my friend. If you don’t pull it apart you should wrap it around the card and adhere on the back! My apologies!!!
