I’m sharing a card making masking technique for awesome birthday cards. I know you love learning how to make a birthday card—especially when it’s one for the guys. You all tell me all the time you need more card ideas for masculine cards so today….your wish is my command!
I’ve got 3 men in my life who have July birthdays– my son and two of his sons. I decided it was time to pull out the feather from the Stampin’ Up! ‘Tasteful Touches stamp set. I thought that would be a great image for a masculine birthday card!
I am sharing three different cards with you today and I’m using a card making masking technique and embossing for each of them. Using my grid paper I lined up my Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5 1/4″) so I could mask 1 inch on each side with long post notes.
Then I used a sponge brayer to apply Balmy Blue ink. On the first card I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the feathers. Then, making sure that all of my ink was dry, I stamped more feathers with Versamark Ink and then added Silver Emboss Powder. Silver foil finishes off the look on this handmade birthday card!
