Need a Birthday gift card holder you can make in minutes? Well, look no further! This gift card holder doubles as a regular card too!
I have mixed feelings about sending gift cards but with my adult children it really is the best thing to send them. I used to love shopping for them when they were little, but now they live all over and I have no clue what they want, so gift cards it is!
Today I am going to chat with y’all about the Designer Series Papers and the large images in the Tropical Oasis Stamp set.

Who will you make this Birthday gift card holder for? Let me know in the comments!
I did have a few challenges taking good photos since the card was front heavy! The weight of the gift card kept making it fall forward when I tried to open it! So laying down it is!
Hopefully you can visualize how this works. If not make sure you watch the video! The gift card was held inside of the smaller card with a glue dot. This card will be for one of my Daughters this Spring but it will hold a different gift card. They can’t know everything in case they see this blog post! LOL!!!
Watch the video to see how easily this card went together and to see the samples of ways I tried to color the Hibiscus flowers in the stamp set! Below the video I want to share some other inspirations for you!
Measurements
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper – 4″ x 5 1/4″ & 3″ x 4″
- Whisper White Cardstock – 4″ x 6″, scored and folded at 3″ & 1″ x 2 1/2″
- Old Olive Cardstock – 1 1/4″ x 4″, scored at 3 1/4″
Let the Gorgeous Designer Series Papers be the focus of your cards! Simply add the sentiment, some ribbon and perhaps a trinket like I did. I truly tried to color the large Hibiscus flower to match this paper and I just couldn’t come close!
Notice how this card is the same layout as my featured card without the Gift card holder part? And it’s like the card below too. Awesome how the same layout can look so different!
When coloring the large Hibiscus flower you may struggle if you try to match the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Papers. It can be really tough and I share this on my video. I recommend that you use more subtle background Designer Series Papers when you stamp the flowers.
How about a masculine card? I needed a Thank you card for one of my sons and I am so happy how this easy card turned out! Truly #simplestamping! Use your snips to create the banner tail on the sentiment! The cardbase and layers look black but I used Early Espresso cardstock and Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad!
