Peaceful Evergreens with the Baby Wipe Technique

Card Making Ideas· Card Making Techniques· Christmas Cards· Gallery· Gift Card Holder

7 Nov

Who knew Baby Wipes could be such a crafty tool? I certainly didn’t until I stumbled upon this magical technique!

I was initially a bit bah humbug about my Shaded Spruce stamped trees. They just weren’t merry and bright enough. But then, I remembered my trusty 55 Card Making Techniques book, and voila! The Baby Wipe Technique was the perfect solution to my holly jolly problem. I went with a lighter shade of green (Garden Green) since the Shaded Spruce was a little too dark.

These handmade Christmas cards focus on the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Evergreen bundle. Mix it with the baby wipe technique, and my trees are a festive fiesta of colors! I can’t wait to share six of my favorite creations with you. So grab your favorite holiday tunes and make some fabulous cards!

Where To Find The Baby Wipe Technique? My BOOK OF TECHNIQUES!

On page 17, you’ll find the classic Baby Wipe Technique. It’s a perfect fit for creating those stunning Peaceful Evergreen Tree cards!

Creating Your Ink Pad:

  • Gather your supplies: 4-5 baby wipes and ink refills in your desired colors (e.g., Blueberry Bushel, Shaded Spruce, Pretty Peacock, Fresh Freesia).
  • Pro Tip: Avoid handling the ink pad directly. I did this and had to laugh at myself!  If you do, use hand sanitizer to remove ink residue.
  • Layer the colors: Place the baby wipes on a flat surface and add drops of ink refill to create a colorful palette.

Note: Fresh Freesia may be less visible on certain cardstock colors.

I had a blast mixing and matching greeting stamps for my cards! While I used the ‘Be Merry’ stamp from the Christmas Labels set for some, I switched things up with other sets for various looks.

The Peaceful Season stamp set was the perfect choice for this card, as it didn’t obscure my tree cluster. I added a touch of Fresh Freesia to the trees and embossed the background with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder for a wintery feel.

This gift card holder is the perfect solution for gifting cash or cards! It’s a full-size card with a smaller pocket for the gift, making it a great option for holiday gifts.

Greeting Stamp: Peaceful Season. This set pairs well with the Peaceful Evergreens set too!

Simple to stamp 4 trees in a row!

I loved lining up those tiny trees down the card! It was so fun to stamp the bold ‘Christmas’ greeting in Blueberry Bushel and add a simple ‘Merry’ sentiment to complete the design.
