I’m bringing you another video in my Easy Peasy 1-2-3 Series using sponges, post it notes, marbles and rubber bands! Yes I said marbles and rubber bands!
As I was thinking about fun card making techniques for this series I was reminded of how we use to use marbles to get cool backgrounds so I asked my husband to stop on the way home to buy me some marbles! LOL!
Starting with faux layers the sponging technique that looks like another layer but it’s actually all on one layer of whisper white cardstock.

Using a large torn Post It Note to cover up part of my Whisper White Layer, I sponged Night of Navy and Crumb Cake Inks on the exposed Whisper White Cardstock.
Complete the card front by stamping the Lighthouse with Memento Ink. Lighthouse is from Sailing Home Stamp set, sentiment are from Peaceful Moments Stamp Set (January-June Mini Catalog)
I know I tell y’all all of the time to watch my video but you really need to watch this one!
Create the Faux Sponged layer as before you will then wrap Rubber Bands around a Clear Block and ink up the block with Night of Navy and then Soft Suede Inks. Stamp the Lighthouse with Memento and color with Night of Navy Combo and Soft Suede Light Stampin’ Blends.
Stamp sentiment with Night of Navy Ink.
Now the Fun one! Grab some marbles, yes the ones you played with as a kid! Take the Night of Navy Ink Refill and drop some ink on the inside of a large Stamp Case(right side only). Roll the marbles all thru the ink. Attach the Whisper White Cardstock (masked with the Post It Note) on the left side of the Stamp Case. Close the case and let the marbles roll over the layer!

- Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″
- Night of Navy Cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White Cardstock – 3 3/4″ x 5″, scraps for any Lighthouses you stamp and cut out.
