DIY Paper Crafting: Make it like the catalog display -Bookmarks! How did they make those bookmarks on page 20 in the Annual Catalog was a question I received recently! So, I ordered the bundle and played!
And it has inspired me to do a series on projects in the Stampin’ Up catalog! So when you see this graphic you will know what it means!
There are loads of handmade cards and paper crafting projects in the catalog–from bookmarks, 3D projects, gift tags, & note cards so let me show you how to make some of these in this new series!
Make it like the catalog display Bookmarks! Video:
This Botanical Bliss bundle comes with Framelits that were a little confusing at first. I did my typical run-all-the-Framelits-thru-scratch cardstock to see what they do and then the light bulb went off!
As a Demonstrator I have access to the Supply List for all of the samples in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and when I pulled it up it called for Very Vanilla Cardstock and Very Vanilla Bakers Twine. Since I did not have Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine I changed everything to White!
The Instructions on page 20 said to cut the cardstock 2 1/2″ but to me that was too wide since the framelit measures 2″ and I felt it looked better at 2″. I used Whisper White Thick cardstock for stability and cut it 2″ x 5 1/2″ since the Framelit takes up about 2″ at the top of the strip of cardstock.
The real trick to making the bookmarks is that you have to run the Framelit thru three times! Once with the Whisper White then I used Petal Pink for the flower and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. As you can see on the video I had to do some fussy cutting to make it all fit!
