7 Tools For Making Cards You’ll Want To Have + A Simple Hand Stamped Card

There are 7 tools for making cards that you’ll want to have from the get-go. I’ll show you what you need to get started plus we’ll make a simple card.

When you get started with card making it may feel overwhelming and confusing so we are going down to the basics today. Start simple and then add more tools for making cards when you are ready to make more advanced cards. 

7 Tools for making cards you need to have:

  • Stamps – preferably a set with both greetings & images
  • Acrylic Blocks to mount your stamps on
  • Ink Pads – Choose 3-5 colors, including Memento Black Ink Pad
  • Cardstock – 2-3 colors that match the ink pad colors you chose plus basic white cardstock
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Paper Snips (Scissors)
  • Adhesives

With these 7 tools for making cards, you can feel confident and ready to get started!

Tools For Making Cards + Simple Stamped Card

Now that we’ve discussed the needed tools for making cards let’s dive into talking about the card making supplies I used to hand stamp a card! I started with 3-4 ink pads, the ‘Forever Fern’ stamp set, and cardstock in basic white and Starry Sky. The card turned out great and as the card says….You Can Do This!

Embellishments are ‘tools’ for making cards that offer easy and affordable ways to make your cards look ‘stepped up’.

One of the more advanced tools for making cards is a die-cutting machine and dies. When you become more confident as a card maker you’ll enjoy working with dies.

My Mystery Stampers made the 2nd card during Mystery Monday Stamping today! If you are a new card maker you definitely want to join us every Monday on YouTube! I give everyone a basic list of supplies via email on Sunday. Then on Monday night at 7:00 PM Central, I give the rest of the clues to make a card.

You only need these few tools that we talked about today for making cards to participate in Mystery Stamping!

    So glad to hear you laugh and your smiling face!
    Couldn’t see you had to watch replay we had bad storms come through our area and dumped 3 inches of rain in about 2 hours. Electricity kept going out.
    Loved this card and technique. I used the In Bloom stamp set.
