Need ideas for making cards? Use the Splendid Thought by Stampin’ Up! I will show you how to make 3 greeting cards with some lovely designer paper and some fresh color palettes too.

I was anxious to share the new Splendid Thoughts Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up! The suite contains

  • Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set

My 1st ideas for making cards include a fun fold paired with this beautiful designer paper.

Ideas for Making Cards – 3 Designs

I love the Splendid Thoughts Suite so I kept on playing and came up with 3 ideas for making cards. I used color charts for my inspiration to get fresh color palettes; you can get your FREE Core color chart download too. I prefer to print the color charts on our basic white cardstock to get the best colors. If you would like the InColor Charts you can also find them in my Tutorial Store for FREE.

The important thing is to have fun coming up with your ideas and designs!

Ideas for Making Cards: Let The Designer Paper Do The WOrk

I let the designer paper do the work on this card and used the copper foil leaves as an accent. I have a friend that lost his mom suddenly; I think this elegant card will be perfect to let the family know that I am thinking of them.

I love fun fold cards and with specialty foil paper what could be better? Oh, yes–the copper foil die cut leaves to accent the inside panel. You can easily add a gift card to the top panel if you wanted.

Ideas For Card Making: Embellish with die cuts!

For card no. 2 I used Cajun Craze cardstock in the Stripes & Splatters embossing folder –perfect for a terracotta pot! The Color Chart indicated that Soft Sea Foam paired nicely with Granny Apple Green and Merry Merlot so those are the 3 colors of my leaves.

Design Idea 3: WaterColor Background

This card making idea started with watercolor background with Pool Party ink refill and a water brush. I embossed the pot using the Time Worn embossing folder and accented the card with Festive Pearls (July-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog).

I loved coming up with these ideas for card making paired with the Splendid Day Suite!
