These cards or bookmarks will be going to different children or senior citizens. Therefore, they all need to be different and signed just like you would send a note to a friend or family member. Rene Parise collects these cards to send to Cardz for Kidz. She has to make sure that each one abides by the Guidelines that we must go by. Help make her job easier by reading the guidelines. I have a download for you to print off below.

- NO DUPLICATE Cards or bookmarks.
- You must sign your first name, city, state inside the card and write a sentiment (see choices below)
- No envelopes or clear sleeves necessary, cards are hand delivered.
- Do NOT make specific Holiday or birthday cards since they want the recipients to cherish the cards year-round.
- You can make as many as you want.
If you want to donate towards shipping costs for Renee, put it in an envelope marked with her name on the envelope.
All the cards need to be 100% HANDMADE. Hand crafted, individually designed on the computer or drawn on paper.
All of the cards should be different and should not seem like they were mass produced. They want the recipients to feel special. (If you choose to use the same lay out be sure to use different paper, die cuts, and sentiments.)
There are no size restrictions, (but we would recommend US A2 and no larger than 5×7 for easier packaging and shipping). The goal is to help patients and families focus on something besides their current situations.
Cards must have an uplifting message.
It could be helpful to pretend you are making card for a healthy and happy child, and you just want to remind them how and why they are special; these kids have a variety of tough conditions.
Write things like:
You are awesome!
Never forget how amazing you are!
You shine brighter than the sun!
You inspire me!
I believe in YOU!
You are strong!
DO NOT SAY:
A. Get Well, Feel Better, Stay Strong, or other illness/situation related comments
B. Your personal information such as address, phone number, or email
C. that you are Praying for them or God Bless You (there are so many different religions
WHAT TO WRITE INSIDE
Please do NOT send any blank cards. They want complete cards with the message, your name and location, so the patients/families receiving the cards feel they made a new connection.
Stamped Sentiment or handwritten note, sign inside of cards with your FIRST name only, city, and state.
Since they stated no small embellishments, please no shaker cards WE RECOMMEND THAT PEOPLE COMPLETELY AVOID SPRINKLE GLITTER, FUZZ BALLS, FELT STICKERS, PIPE CLEANERS, OR OTHER FUZZY MATERIALS. Do not use fuzz balls, feathers or other little things that are NOT effectively attached to the cards. Remember, the cards must survive a couple of trips through the post office and their sorting process! Also, they are less likely to be sanitary. We would also recommend not using small embellishments if making cards for younger kids because they can pull them off and swallow them.
Must be laminated or made of heavy cardstock for strength and durability
CARDZ FOR KIDZ
A little about the Cardz for Kidz organization – Cardz for Kidz is dedicated to uplifting spirits across the globe by delivering inspiring handmade cards.
It is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit in 2014.
Thanks to that certification, social media, and word-of-mouth marketing, the
organization began to grow. For example, thanks to contributions, Cardz for Kidz has collected and distributed thousands of handmade cards to seniors, and children in hospitals and foster homes. With your continued support, many more will be reached. If you want to read more about them here is their site: https://cardzforkidz.org/about-us/
The cards may be going to hospitals, foster homes, or senior homes. I would consider kids to be anywhere from newborn to 18 years of age. The cards will be sent to a sorting house, so make whatever cards you want, and the volunteers will take it from there.
If you would like to share your cards, go to
Tx Sharon’s Stamping Friends | Facebook and post a picture using CardzforKidz (specific month/year) for example #cardzforkidzJuly2022. These will then post in the topics as well as on the page and be easy to find.
(On a side note, if you would like to donate a thank you card for the mail carriers, please put it in an envelope just marked postal worker. After I am done collecting cards, I will take all of them to the post office together so that they too can have a smile for all the work they are doing as well. —- Renee)
