Let me show you how to emboss scrapbook paper and designer paper for DIY card making. You’ll love the fun and texture this technique brings!
Super excited that I learned this fun technique! Embossing my Designer Series Papers with Embossing Folders! I had never thought of doing this until I was inspired by a card in Stampin’ Up!’s Mini Catalog! I actually created all of the cards I am sharing today not only from the embossing but the actual layout as well!
Since I was on a roll with Embossing my Tropical Oasis Designer Series Papers I took it another step further and used White Emboss Powder to emboss my Bright’s Collection Designer Series Papers that you will see on my Hibiscus card below!
Here is my inspiration card from the Artists at Stampin’ Up! Can you see the embossing on the Designer Series Paper???

Have you ever tried to emboss on scrapbook paper or your designer papers?
This card was embossed with the Tufted 3D Embossing folder. So hard to see the embossing in this photo but you sure can feel it! Notice that I turned this card landscape? Such a different look even though I still used the same elements…5/16″ (8 Mm) Braided Burlap Trim, Trinkets, Image Layer and Sentiment Layer.
Using the Coastal Weave Embossing folder on this card you can really see the weave! Paper Saving Tip: cut the circle out of the DSP before you emboss it with Layering Circles Dies. Once you add the Terracotta Tile Cardstock Scalloped layer you can’t see where you punched the hole!
This was the first card I made. Change the circles to squares and rectangles for a totally different look!
Helping you see the textures better on these prints. I promise in person you really can see the textures! Sure hope y’all give this a try!
