Ink Refills Background Cards is a technique I get questions about a lot. I always advise people to order the ink refills for their stamp pads but to give more value to your purchase what else can you do with them? Create stunning backgrounds!
Ink Refills Background Cards Steps:
Spritz a large clear block with water with a Stampin’ Spritzer.
Add two colors of Ink Refills all over the block. Not too much and I don’t recommend more than two because the colors get muddy.
Spritz the ink until the colors run together like this: (Make sure you have paper towels under because as you can see the overspray goes off the block)
Take an Aqua painter and move the ink around if you need to fill in “holes”
The Ink Refills Background Cards technique works best with Water Color paper or Shimmery White. If you use Shimmery White it may buckle a little. After the paper is completely dry place some books on top to flatten it out.
Place the paper on top of the clear block and push down with your fingers to move the ink so that the entire layer is covered with ink.
If you have any white spots take the Aqua Painter and dip in the ink on the block and color the white areas.
Since my focus was the background I simply stamp with Versamark and use White Emboss Powder which I feel is stunning! Some words of advice: Make sure your paper is completely dry! And use an Embossing Buddy to make sure you have removed all of the static from the paper. If you use Water Color paper you may see the white powder in the indentions of the paper. When you are completely finished embossing take a damp rag and wipe off the powder.
