It’s Technique Thursday Torn Edges Technique is our easy technique that has been around for years!  I realized I have not used this in a long time!  I think it gives a different look to any card but especially for a man.  I needed a Congratulations card for my son so this worked great for him!

Since this is such an easy Technique I could think of many instructions!  LOL!  But you can watch the video and SEE how easy it is!

The Torn Edge Technique instantly adds richness and depth and makes a more interesting background especially when paired with Copper Embossing!

Tips for tearing the card stock:

Since my layer was small (3 3/4 x 5 1/2) I held it in my hand and tore towards me.  I did this on both sides of the Soft Suede layer.  The cool thing is if you don’t like the jagged look you get flip the paper over and the other side will look smoother!

If you have a larger piece of card stock you can lay it down on the table and tear it towards you.

If you tear Designer Series Papers there is a white core.  You need to decide if you like that or if you want to sponge it to soften the white inside.

You can also roll the torn edges for a totally different look too!  Grab a bone folder and use it to roll the edge towards you.

Hope this easy Torn Edges Technique makes you want to go tear some paper!

I am part of a brand new DESIGN TEAM that will be working together to share fun stamping techniques and tips with you each and every Thursday. I have teamed up with some of my very best stamping friends and I can’t wait to share all the fun ideas we come up with together. Sometimes the projects will be ones I create, while other times you will get to see what my friends create–it’s a win/win for all of us! That is one of the beauties of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator–working with others to bring you lots of ideas! Watch for this logo each week to see what this new DESIGN TEAM has created for you!
